Take a journey out among the stars with a 1-hour stargazing experience in the Chiltern Hills. We'll meet you at one of our stargazing locations with a big telescope for a grand tour of the night sky. The 1-hour Chilterns stargazing experience includes a laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations that we can see with the naked eye, and a voyage out into the hidden universe in search of star systems, star clusters, red supergiants, enigmatic nebulae and distant galaxies far beyond our own. If the moon and / or planets are available to view in the night sky then we'll visit them too with the telescope.

CHILTERN HILLS 1-HOUR STARGAZING EXPERIENCE

Launch into an amazing journey among the stars with our 1-hour stargazing experience in the Chiltern Hills. Our experienced astronomer will transport you out into orbit and far beyond using a powerful telescope to look at star systems, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies far beyond our own. You'll hear about the background story to each view, and you'll also be treated to a laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations that we can see from the ground without a telescope. If the moon is in the sky you'll get a high-definition close up view of the lunar surface. You might get to see some planets too!

In the 1-hour Chiltern Hills stargazing experience gift box you get:

We run our 1-hour stargazing experiences in the Chiltern Hills from Coombe Hill near Wendover and Pitstone Hill near Ivinghoe Beacon, Tring. If you're fascinated by the night sky our 1-hour stargazing experience is a great introduction to astronomy. It's suitable for kids too - we can adapt the experience to suit the voucher recipient's age and interest level. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Our stargazing experiences are suitable for individuals, couples, families and small groups of up to 15 people.

When can the voucher be used?

That's up to you! We can run your  private stargazing experience in the Chiltern Hills anytime of the year, except 24-31 December, and subject to our astronomer's availability.  For best choice of dates the we recommend that you book well in advance. You can book for a week night or weekend night with any start time, so long as it is dark!

What if it is raining or cloudy?

Naturally cloud and rain is always a threat. When using the voucher to book the stargazing experience we recommend that you choose 2 or 3 nights initially on which you’d be happy for us to run the experience. If it is cloudy / raining on all selected nights then we’ll simply roll the experience forward to an alternative date that works. We can keep rolling the experience forward until we are able to run the stargazing for you.
