Our 1-hour Exmoor stargazing experience gives you a unique opportunity to explore Exmoor's night sky through a big telescope with an astronomer as your guide. You'll be transported thousands of light years away in search of strange star systems, dazzling star clusters, mysterious nebulae and wondrous galaxies far beyond our own. If the moon and / or planets are in the sky then we'll visit then too with the telescope. Included in the 1-hour Exmoor stargazing experience is a laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations that we can see with the naked eye. One voucher covers the recipient plus up to 15 family & friends.

EXMOOR 1-HOUR STARGAZING EXPERIENCE

Imagine journeying across the universe at the speed of light. What strange places and alien landscapes might you discover? Why not find out with a 1-hour stargazing experience from Exmoor's International Dark Sky Reserve. An astronomer from Dark Sky Telescope Hire will meet you at one of our Exmoor stargazing locations for a memorable adventure across the cosmos. You'll get high-resolution views of the night sky, including views of an amazing selection of celestial wonders that are simply invisible to the naked eye from a town or city location. Discover ancient star systems around which alien worlds might orbit; see dazzling star clusters against the darkness of Exmoor's night sky. Nebulae and other galaxies far beyond our own are on the menu too - and if we have the moon and / or planets in the sky we'll visit them as well with the telescope. This is a private stargazing experience run exclusively for the gift box recipient plus any family members and friends they wish to have along to share in the experience, up to a maximum of 15 persons.

Our 1-hour Exmoor stargazing experience is an amazing gift whether for a birthday, Christmas or special occasion. The recipient gets a professionally printed stargazing voucher inside a beautifully crafted gift box, along with instructions on how to use the voucher. It's perfect for anyone with an interest in astronomy or the night sky in general, and the experience can be adapted to suit all levels of interest. It's great for kids too. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

When can the voucher be used?

The 1-hour Exmoor stargazing experience gift voucher is valid for 2-years initially from month of issue. That will give the recipient plenty of time to choose a date that suits, and for us to find a clear night on which to run the experience. We can run the experience on a week night or weekend night anytime of the year, except 24 -31 December, and subject to our astronomer's availability. When using the stargazing voucher it is recommended that you book well in advance for the best choice of dates.

What if it is raining or cloudy?

Naturally cloud and rain is always a threat. When using the voucher to book the stargazing experience we recommend that you choose 2 or 3 nights initially on which you’d be happy for us to run the experience. If it is cloudy / raining on all selected nights then we’ll simply roll the experience forward to an alternative date that works. We can keep rolling the experience forward until we are able to run the stargazing for you.
