Explore the night sky from a dark sky site in the Shropshire Hills with an experienced astronomer as your guide. On our 2-hour Shropshire stargazing experience night we'll whisk you off on a private 2-hour tour of the heavens. Your stargazing experience includes a laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations that we can see from the Long Mynd. SHROPSHIRE HILLS (LONG MYND) 2-HOUR STARGAZING EXPERIENCE

Explore the stars and constellations on a private 2-hour stargazing experience from the Long Mynd in Shropshire. We'll take you on a laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations that we can see from the ground including a set of stars used as a Roman eyesight test and a handy tip to help you find the Pole Star! We'll also have on hand one of our large portable telescopes to whisk you off on a grand tour of the hidden sky! There are ancient star clusters to explore, the light from distant nebulae, and even galaxies to see many millions of light years away. If the moon and / or planets are visible then we'll go visit them too with the telescope.

Treat a loved one to an adventure among the stars. Our stargazing experiences make for a perfect Christmas or birthday gift. The experience is suitable for individuals, couples, families and small groups. It’s great for children too from age 7 upwards. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Voucher recipient may have up to 15 friends and family members share in the experience at no extra charge.

When can the voucher be used?

The stargazing voucher can be used on a week night or weekend night anytime of the year, except 24-31 December and subject to our astronomer's availability. Start times vary depending on season. In the wintertime we can start as early as 5:30pm. During midsummer we would start at 10:30pm or later.

What if it is raining or cloudy?

Naturally cloud and rain is always a threat. When booking the stargazing experience we recommend that you choose  2 or 3 nights initially on which you’d be happy for us to run the experience for you. If it is cloudy / raining on all selected nights then we’ll simply roll the experience forward to an alternative date that works. We can keep rolling the experience forward until we are able to run the stargazing for you.
