2-HOUR STAINBURN FOREST YORKSHIRE DALES STARGAZING EXPERIENCE 

Get closer to the stars on a private stargazing experience in the Yorkshire Dales. Our stargazing site at Stainburn Forest is on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. It offers a dark sky from which our astronomer will take you on a breathtaking adventure across the cosmos with one of our large observatory-grade telescopes. See some of the brightest stars in the sky close up; marvel at sparkling star clusters thousands of light year away. See the light from red supergiants on the verge of exploding as powerful supernova, and view the stellar imprints of long-dead stars strewn across the heavens. Should we have any planets in the sky on your chosen stargazing night then we'll get a look at the too in the telescope. Saturn and Jupiter especially are an impressive sight in the size of telescope we use.

Your private Stainburn Forest Yorkshire Dales Stargazing Experience includes

• Two hour private stargazing session with a professional astronomer and large telescope
• Narration of the views you can see through the telescope from the astronomer
• Laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations we can see with the naked eye
• Free parking at the stargazing site

If you have your own telescope and need help / advice on how to use it then you're very welcome to bring your telescope along to the stargazing session.

If you'd like a list of available dates and times for a stargazing experience at our Stainburn Forest location please do get in touch. Alternatively we offer the 2-hour Stainburn Forest Yorkshire Dales stargazing experience as a gift voucher inside one of our luxury A5 gift boxes so the gift recipient can choose their own date when conveninent. The stargazing voucher is valid for two years initially, with an option to extend the voucher for an additional year free of charge so as to allow plenty of time for the recipient to book a date, and for us to find a clear night on which to run the stargazing experience. 

We're happy to personalise the voucher with a short message. A message box will appear during the checkout process for you to add your personal note.

When can the stargazing voucher be used? 

Weekends and weeknights ay time of the year, subject to our availability.  Please consider booking 4 - 6 months in advance for the best selection of dates.

What if it is raining or cloudy? 

Naturally cloud and rain is always a threat. When booking the stargazing experience we recommend that you choose  2 or 3 nights initially on which you’d be happy for us to run the experience for you. If it is cloudy / raining on all selected nights then we’ll simply roll the experience forward to an alternative date that works. We can keep rolling the experience forward until we are able to run the stargazing for you.
