WHITE HORSE HILL / WESSEX DOWNS 2-HOUR STARGAZING EXPERIENCE

Enjoy an unfortgettable stargazing experience with expert astronomer Seb Jay at the White Horse Hill near Uffington, or at our Wessex Downs stargazing locations at the Ridgeway near West Ilsley and White Hill near Kingsclere in North Hampshire. These locations have been specifically chosen for their relative dark sky and easy access to amazing 360-degree views of England's night sky.

Within easy reach of places like Swindon, Oxford, Newbury, Reading and Basingstoke you'll be treated to an incredible 2-hour private stargazing adventure with Seb Jay as your guide. Your stargazing experience night includes an impressive laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations that we'll be able to see from White Horse Hill or the Wessex Downs, followed by a breathtaking jounrey out across the universe using one of Dark Sky Telescope Hire's big telescopes. Along the way you'll discover ancient star systems and star clusters around which alien worlds could orbit; red supergiants on the verge of collapse, and the light from distant galaxies far beyond our own.

If we have the moon and planets in the sky we'll visit them too with the telescope. Planets move against the background stars so are not always visible. If you'd like to see a particular planet through one of our big telescopes please ask us on the best time of the year to view.

• 2-hour stargazing experience gift voucher for a choice of our three stargazing spots in the area. The voucher is valid for 2 years from month of issue with option to extend for a further year free of charge if required

The 2-hour White Horse Hill and Wessex Downs stargazing experience voucher is professionally printed and presented in a luxury stargazing experience gift box, making for a very special present for birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas. Suitable for individuals, couples, families and small groups the 2-hour stargazing experience is a private session run only for the voucher recipient and any family and friends they wish to bring with them to share in the experience. It’s great for children too from age 7 upwards. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

When can the White Horse Hill / Wessex Downs stargazing experience voucher be used?

Your private stargazing voucher can be used on a week night or weekend night anytime of the year over a 2-year period. We are often very busy with stargazing bookings so please plan 8 - 12 weeks ahead when considering dates for White Horse Hill and the Wessex Downs. We do not run stargazing nights during the festive period 24 December - 31 December.

What if it is raining or cloudy?

Naturally cloud and rain is always a threat. When booking the stargazing experience we recommend that the voucher recipient select  2 or 3 nights initially on which they’d be happy for us to run the experience. If it is cloudy / raining on all selected nights then we’ll simply roll the experience forward to an alternative date that works. We can keep rolling the experience forward until we are able to run the stargazing for them.
