WEST MIDLANDS 1-HOUR STARGAZING EXPERIENCE
See the night sky like never before with a thrilling 1-hour stargazing experience in the West Midlands. We now operate from two locations in the West Midlands – The Clent Hills near Stourbridge and Cannock Chase near Brocton. Both offer excellent views of the night sky, sheltered from the majority of Birmingham’s city lights. For your 1-hour stargazing adventure we’ll use a large telescope so you can discover first-hand a whole host of exotic celestial objects from star clusters many thousands of light years away to weird objects lurking on the outskirts of our galaxy, and even other distant galaxies far beyond our own. If the moon and / or planets are visible then we’ll go visit them too with the telescope, and we’ll have a laser pointer on hand to give you a personal tour of the stars and constellations that we can see from the ground.
In the 1-hour West Midlands stargazing gift box you get:
- 1-hour stargazing experience gift voucher for the West Midlands valid for 2 years from month of issue
- Instructions on how to use the voucher
- Information about our stargazing locations at Clent Hills and Cannock Chase, plus map and directions
Want to buy a stargazing experience as a gift? his is the best way to do it! Your 1-hour West Midlands Stargazing Experience voucher is suitable for individuals, couples, families and small groups. It’s great for children too from age 7 upwards. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. When can the voucher be used?
Stargazing is a fun activity that can be done all year round. In the winter you can start as early as 5:30pm when it gets dark. In the summer start times are from 10pm onwards owing to the lingering summer twilight. So the question really is when do you want to go stargazing? Your 1-hour West Midlands stargazing experience voucher can be used anytime of the year on week night or weekend night to suit. The only dates we don’t run are 24 – 31 December each year, and of course any date you choose is subject to our astronomer’s availability.
What if it is raining or cloudy?
Naturally cloud and rain is always a threat. When booking the stargazing experience we recommend that you choose 2 or 3 nights initially on which you’d be happy for us to run the experience for you. If it is cloudy / raining on all selected nights then we’ll simply roll the experience forward to an alternative date that works. We can keep rolling the experience forward until we are able to run the stargazing for you.
